WALDORF, MD – On Thursday, around 8:02 p.m., a shooting occurred at the St. Charles Towne Center, located at 11110 Mall Circle in Waldorf. Emergency services, including police, fire, and rescue teams, promptly responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found a 50-year-old female victim with a gunshot wound to her arm.
Initially, a helicopter was requested for her transport, but adverse weather conditions necessitated ground transportation to a trauma center. Her injuries were non-life-threatening.
The incident, currently under investigation by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, is being treated as an attempted armed robbery. Two suspects, one armed with a firearm, attempted to rob the victim before shooting her. They subsequently fled the scene in a vehicle.
