Two Trenton Men Arrested for Drug Distribution in Ocean County

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer has announced the arrest of two Trenton men following a comprehensive investigation led by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force in collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies. Jireh Mathis, 27, and Tashawn McDonald, 23, were identified as key figures in the distribution of Heroin/Fentanyl and Cocaine in the Ocean County area.

The investigation, spanning two months, involved extensive surveillance operations by detectives from various agencies. On January 22nd, Mathis and McDonald were observed arriving at the Green Meadow Apartment Complex in Toms River. Upon contact by the detectives, Mathis attempted to flee but was apprehended, while McDonald was taken into custody without resistance.

A search following Mathis’s arrest revealed his possession of significant quantities of Heroin/Fentanyl and Cocaine. Overall, the investigation led to the seizure of approximately 1,500 wax folds of Heroin/Fentanyl and 25 grams of Cocaine.


Mathis faces multiple charges, including possession and intent to distribute significant amounts of Heroin and Cocaine, as well as resisting arrest. He is currently held at the Ocean County Jail awaiting trial. McDonald has been charged with conspiracy to distribute Heroin and Cocaine and will appear in Ocean County Superior Court.
