MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – A traffic incident involving five vehicles occurred on Friday, at around 7:20 pm. Manchester Township Police Department officers responded to the crash site at Route 571 and Commonwealth Boulevard.

The collision involved a red Ford Mustang, a silver Mercedes-Benz CLK, and a black Kia Sportage, along with two additional vehicles – a red Dodge Ram and a silver Toyota Highlander.

Preliminary findings indicate that the Ford, driven by Sean Scott, 24, of Manchester, NJ, was hit by the Kia and Mercedes-Benz during a left turn.

The impact caused the Kia to travel onto a nearby property, damaging the parked Dodge and Toyota.

While Scott reported no injuries, Thomas White, 56, of Manahawkin, NJ, driver of the Mercedes-Benz, sustained minor injuries. Yaphet Acevedo-Nunez, 45, of Toms River, NJ, the Kia’s driver, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation led by Ptl. Keith Douglas of the Traffic Safety Unit is ongoing, with an improper turn cited as a primary factor.
