Holmdel Traffic Stop Ends with DUI, Arrest of Suspected Drug Dealers

Holmdel, NJ – A routine traffic stop in Holmdel Township resulted in two arrests early Saturday morning on Laurel Avenue. Holmdel Police Department officers initiated the stop at 12:32 a.m., leading to the arrest of the vehicle’s driver, 27-year-old Ezra Wheeler from Eatontown, for driving while intoxicated (DWI). Wheeler faced multiple motor vehicle charges and was subsequently released.

Further investigation during the traffic stop uncovered significant evidence leading to the arrest of the passenger, 27-year-old Zhahiem Spann from Long Branch. Spann was found in possession of over a pound and a half of marijuana, resulting in charges of possession with intent to distribute. Following the charges, Spann was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.
