NEWARK, NJ – Khalid Holland, a 44-year-old man from Newark, was sentenced today to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to drug trafficking and firearms possession, as announced by U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger.

On May 15, 2023, Holland entered his guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Julien Xavier Neals, acknowledging his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and cocaine in the Lincoln Park area of Newark. His charges included one count of possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon, one count of possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and cocaine.

The court heard how, from June to September 2022, Holland was engaged in the distribution of fentanyl and cocaine. The investigation led to the recovery of 13 firearms from various locations, with five found in Holland’s residence, alongside hundreds of rounds of ammunition and thousands of doses of fentanyl and cocaine. Holland admitted the firearms found at his residence were possessed in connection with his drug trafficking activities.

Following his prison term, Holland is also sentenced to three years of supervised release, as ordered by Judge Neals.
