Carrollton, VA – In a festive turn of events, James Jones, III, from Virginia, hit the jackpot by winning the $125,000 top prize of the Holiday Cash 20X Scratch-Off game. The lucky moment occurred on Christmas Eve when Jones purchased his winning ticket from the Raceway located at 13028 Carrollton Boulevard in Carrollton.

Sharing the excitement with his wife, Jones recounted to Virginia Lottery officials the moment he realized his win, saying, “I looked at my wife, and I said, ‘We got us one!’” He described the feeling of winning as good, highlighting the joy that comes with such unexpected fortune.

The Holiday Cash 20X game, offered by the Virginia Lottery, provides players the chance to win prizes from $5 to the $125,000 top prize. Jones’ win marks the fourth top prize claimed in the game, leaving one more significant prize still up for grabs. The odds of clinching the top prize stand at 1 in 342,720, with overall game odds of winning any prize at 1 in 4.3.

Jones, who works as a carpenter, plans to invest his winnings, leveraging his significant prize towards future financial security.
