Coastal Flood Warning Issued for Cape May Area

SNN Weather Center

Cape May, NJ – A coastal flood warning is in effect from 8 AM Monday to 3 AM Wednesday for Cape May and Atlantic Coastal Cape May areas, as announced by weather authorities.

The warning predicts one to two feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying regions near shorelines and tidal waterways. This condition is expected to result in widespread roadway flooding in coastal, bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways, rendering many roads impassable. Vulnerable structures may start to experience some damage.

The flooding is anticipated around the times of high tides from Monday through Tuesday night. A moderate coastal flooding is forecasted for some areas with the Tuesday high tide as a strong coastal storm moves offshore.

Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised to stay informed about the latest weather updates and prepare for potential impacts.
