Investigation Underway After Fatal Shooting Leads to Car Crash in Burlington County

Eastampton, NJ – A fatal incident unfolded on the evening of February 10, when Christian Kurtz was discovered with a gunshot wound following a car crash at the intersection of Hedding-Jacksonville Road and Welsford Way, according to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Eastampton Township Police Chief Joseph Iacovitti.

Authorities were called to the scene around 7:15 p.m., where they found Kurtz injured in his vehicle. The subsequent investigation revealed that Kurtz had been shot at the Eastampton Gardens apartment complex before driving a short distance and colliding with another vehicle.

Kurtz was rushed to Virtua Mount Holly Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries approximately 30 minutes later. The Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office is scheduled to perform an autopsy today.


No arrests have been announced in connection with the shooting. The motive and intended destination of Kurtz at the time of the incident remain under investigation.
