Two Teens Charged in Connection with Deadly New Year’s Eve Shooting in Capital Heights

Capitol Heights, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department has charged 18-year-old Bilal Ansariddeen of Bowie and 19-year-old Kiemontey Jenifer of Washington, DC, in the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Nelson Bonilla-Reyes of Capitol Heights. The incident occurred on the evening of December 31, 2023, in the 1400 block of Dunbar Oaks Drive, marking a tragic end to the year in the unincorporated area of Capitol Heights.

Responding to the scene at approximately 10:30 pm, officers discovered Bonilla-Reyes outside with a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a hospital, he was later pronounced dead. The initial investigation indicates the shooting was carried out during a robbery, with the victim and suspects not previously known to each other.

Both Ansariddeen and Jenifer face charges of first and second-degree murder among other related charges. Ansariddeen is currently held in the Department of Corrections under a no-bond status, while Jenifer is detained in Washington, DC, also on a no-bond status, awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
