Chris Christie Says Republicans Who Support Trump Don’t Love America

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie criticized American Republicans who support former U.S. President Donald love their titles and positions more than their country.

Christie, whose anti-Trump messaging fell flat during the 2024 GOP Presidential primary process was never able to rise about 5% regulalry in national polls. In January, after spending months attacking the former President, Christie pulled the plug on his campaign, which was already on life-support.

He took to the View, and admitted to host Joy Behar that he cannot change the Republican party by himself.

“You can’t change a party by yourself. When six of the eight people running for president said they’d support Donald Trump even if he were a convicted felon, it tells voters his conduct is okay. Too many love their title more than they love their country,” Christie tweeted after his interview.

Christie told the view, “In private, Republicans in the House, in the Senate, governors, all say to you, [Donald Trump is] awful. It’s an abomination. It’s going to be terrible, but none of them have the guts to stand up because they love their title more than they love their country.”

The day before his interview, The View appeared to mock Christie’s struggles with obesity, posting, “Former New Jersey @GovChristie joins the co-hosts LIVE to weigh in on the presidential race after suspending his 2024 campaign.”
