New Jersey Congressman Wants Violent Illegal Migrants Out of America

Washington, DC – A New Jersey Congressman is sick and tired of watching illegal migrants attack Americans and America’s police officers. Now, he wants them deported.

Congressman Jeff Van Drew has introduced the Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act. This bill seeks to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to authorize the detention and deportation of illegal aliens who assault law enforcement officers.

The legislation is a response to incidents involving assaults on law enforcement by illegal aliens. According to Congressman Van Drew, the act underscores the importance of respecting U.S. laws and the contributions of law enforcement officers. It mandates the detention of illegal aliens accused of assaulting police until their deportation and introduces a category that bars these individuals from remaining in the U.S.

“Our police put their lives on the line every day to keep our citizens safe – you do not get to break our law by crossing the border illegally, attack those whose job is to protect and defend the public, and then expect to stay in the United States. Unfortunately, until our borders are closed and secured, these types of laws are necessary to protect our nation and its citizens,” Van Drew said.

The bill’s introduction was prompted by a January 27 incident where four NYPD officers were assaulted by illegal aliens, highlighting the necessity of such a law. It aims to enhance public safety by ensuring the swift identification, detention, and deportation of illegal aliens who commit violent acts against law enforcement, thereby deterring violence against officers.
