Man Attacked and Robbed in Broad Daylight on Sidewalk in Jamaica, Queens

New York, NY – On Sunday, February 4, at approximately 1:33 PM, a 49-year-old man was assaulted and robbed while standing on the sidewalk at the intersection of Jamaica Avenue and 85th Street. An unknown assailant slapped the victim in the face, causing his cell phone to fall to the ground, which the assailant then took before fleeing the scene northbound on 85th Street.

The victim did not report any injuries following the incident. The suspect is described as a male with a medium build and long hair, standing between 5’10” and 6’0” tall, with a light complexion. He was last observed wearing a black jacket and blue sweatpants.

The New York City Police Department is actively investigating the robbery and is asking anyone with information to come forward to help in identifying and locating the suspect involved.
