New Jersey Police Arrest Violent Carjacker Throwing Rocks at Car and Banging on Windows

ABSECON, NJ – A violent carjacking incident on U.S. Route 30 (Absecon Boulevard) prompted a swift response from the Absecon Police Department early this morning.

The event occurred just before 8:30 AM when Deshaun C. Washington, 31, of Mays Landing, deliberately entered the roadway, disrupting traffic and targeting a motorist. Washington’s aggressive attempts to access the vehicle escalated from banging on the hood to punching the vehicle’s window and throwing rocks, causing significant damage.

Officers quickly responded to the scene, where Washington fled into nearby woods but was subsequently located and apprehended without further incident. He faces charges of 1st Degree Carjacking, Weapons Offenses, and Criminal Mischief and has been lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
