Trump Campaign Calls Fani Willis Case a “Sham” and Claims “No Legal Basis”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Trump campaign has dismissed the Fani Willis case as a “sham” with “no legal basis,” stating that it should be dismissed. Karoline Leavitt, the National Press Secretary for the Trump campaign, expressed that President Trump views the case as an unjust attempt to undermine him politically.

After the bizarre testimony by Fani Willis, Leavitt said the entire process is nothing but a sham.

“Joe Biden had a very bad day. It’s Joe Biden and his White House who are relying on sham cases from Fulton County, Georgia, to New York City to Washington, D.C., led by these far-left Democrat district attorneys and prosecutors to take down his leading political opposition,” Leavitt said. “If you look at all of these cases, they all have a few similarities. They are brought forth by far-left district attorneys and prosecutors. But the timing is not coincidental. All of these people, Jack Smith, Fani Willis, Alvin Bragg, have had years to prosecute President Trump if they really felt like he was truly a criminal.”

Leavitt criticized the timing of the prosecutions led by district attorneys and prosecutors across various states, suggesting a coordinated effort to remove Trump from potential future ballots. She asserts this strategy is to protect Joe Biden, believing that he cannot win against Trump in a fair electoral contest.

“But guess what? They know that’s not true. They are doing it to protect Joe Biden and remove President Trump’s name off the ballot ahead of the next election because they know that Joe Biden cannot beat him fair and square at the ballot box,” Leavitt added.

Leavitt shared that the Trump team, along with the former President himself, closely followed the hearing, highlighting the significant moments on Trump’s Truth Social page. The campaign continues to argue against what they see as a misuse of justice to target Trump, emphasizing his achievements during his presidency and the support he still commands, even in unexpected quarters.

Despite the criticism from some quarters, the Trump campaign remains steadfast in its belief that the case lacks legal grounding. They argue that questioning election outcomes is a constitutional right, suggesting that the case’s continuation undermines the very foundations of American democracy.

The campaign’s stance is clear: the case should be dismissed, irrespective of the prosecuting authority, based on both alleged procedural misconduct and the fundamental legal principles they claim are on their side.
