Boston, MA – Joshua Westbrook, a 26-year-old Boston resident, has been sentenced to a decade in prison followed by five years of supervised release for his involvement in distributing significant amounts of methamphetamine.
U.S. District Court Judge Angel Kelley handed down the sentence after Westbrook pleaded guilty in April 2023 to a charge of distribution and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.
Westbrook’s criminal activities came to light in November 2021 in Dorchester, where he sold over 360 grams of pure methamphetamine to a cooperating witness in a controlled purchase.
During this transaction, Westbrook was noted for carrying several knives, including one resembling a machete. The investigation further revealed that a package intended for Westbrook, intercepted later that month, contained an additional 440 grams of pure methamphetamine.
Searches conducted over the course of the investigation also led to the seizure of another 500 grams of pure methamphetamine, alongside a machete and a billy club, underscoring the dangerous nature of his operations.
