Police Chase Ends in Capture of Stolen Vehicle

Chesapeake, VA – Police in Chesapeake pursued a stolen white sedan early Monday morning after the driver ran a red light and struck a street sign, then fled the scene. The Chesapeake Police Department attempted to stop the vehicle at around 12:09 a.m. near Campostella Rd. and Border Rd., but the driver refused to stop, initiating a chase.

Shortly after, at around 12:10 a.m., officers found the suspect vehicle abandoned in the 3000 block of Berkley Avenue, having struck another sign. Investigations revealed that the sedan had been stolen from another city.

The search for the suspect is ongoing as the Chesapeake Police Department continues its investigation into the incident.
