Cumberland, MD – The Cumberland Police Department arrested 40-year-old Britini Naechelle McFarland on Sunday, February 18, for assaulting police officers and on an existing bench warrant. The bench warrant was issued after McFarland failed to appear in court on charges including failure to comply with a peace order, harassment through a course of conduct, and disorderly conduct.

The incident occurred around 9:30 AM when officers located McFarland at a residence in the 600 block of E. Second Street and informed her of the active bench warrant for her arrest.

During the arrest attempt, McFarland resisted and assaulted the officers. She was subsequently taken into custody and transported to Central Booking.

Following an initial hearing by a District Court Commissioner, McFarland was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center with a $1,000 bond for the bench warrant and an additional $5,000 bond for the charges incurred during her arrest, including two counts of second-degree assault, failing to obey a reasonable/lawful order, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
