Annapolis, MD – Annapolis police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Newtowne Drive following reports of suspicious activity on February 20.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a man and a woman, while an unidentified adult female left the scene before she could be approached or identified. Woodside Gardens Maintenance staff were also present on the premises.

With consent from the man for a search of his belongings, and from maintenance personnel for a search of the unit, officers conducted a thorough inspection. During the search, officers discovered a pinkish powdery substance, suspected to be heroin, concealed in a lottery ticket inside the man’s bookbag.

The man was subsequently charged in connection with the find.

Further search efforts led to the discovery of a firearm in an unoccupied bedroom within the unit. The firearm was processed for fingerprints, recovered, and submitted as evidence. In response to these findings, banning notices were issued to both the man and the woman present during the police investigation.
