Alexandria Police Investigate Overnight Sexual Assault; Increase Patrols

Alexandria, VA – The Alexandria Police Department is actively investigating a sexual assault reported to have occurred overnight in the vicinity of Mount Vernon and Commonwealth Ave. Interim Chief Raul Pedroso emphasized the department’s dedication to community safety, stating that finding the suspect is a critical priority. This incident is not connected to the sexual assault on Main Line Blvd. on February 4.

Detectives are conducting thorough canvassing in the area today, engaging with local residents to gather information and provide reassurance. In response to this incident, the department has heightened patrols in the affected area and is allocating extensive resources to aid the investigative process.
