Maryland State Trooper Saves Individual from Overpass in Rockville

Rockville, MD – A Maryland State Trooper is being hailed as a hero after preventing a potential tragedy on the morning of Tuesday, February 21, 2024. Trooper First Class Seidl, responding to a call, found an individual standing on the ledge of an overpass near Interstate 270 and Rockledge Boulevard.

Trooper Seidl, along with officers from the Montgomery County Police Department, engaged in dialogue with the individual. Demonstrating quick thinking and compassion, Trooper Seidl managed to secure the person through a chain link fence. The officers held onto the individual until they could safely cut through the fencing and bring the person back to safety.

The individual was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment following the rescue. The prompt and brave actions of Trooper First Class Seidl and the Montgomery County Police Department officers on the scene are credited with saving the individual’s life.
