New Jersey Welcomes Georgia’s Only Black Female State Trooper with Open Arms

Trenton, NJ – Georgia State Trooper Maya Robertson, the only black female state trooper in Georgia, was honored earlier this week in New Jersey. Trooper First Class Robertson received the Saint Elizabeth University Police Studies Institute – Somerset County Sheriff’s Office Black History Month Law Enforcement Award for her exemplary leadership and active engagement within the community.

During her visit to New Jersey, Colonel Patrick Callahan of the New Jersey State Police met with Trooper Robertson. They discussed the various challenges faced in law enforcement, shared personal work experiences, and explored strategies to enhance recruitment efforts.

The award celebrates TFC Robertson’s significant contributions and dedication to law enforcement and community service. Her recognition serves as a testament to her outstanding efforts in leadership and community engagement.
