Investigation Ongoing in Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Ocean Township

Ocean Township, NJ – Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced an investigation into a pedestrian death that occurred Thursday night in Ocean Township.

At approximately 8:18 p.m., Ocean Township Police were dispatched to State Highway 35 and Valley Road following reports of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle. A 38-year-old male, walking on the southbound side of the highway, was hit by a 2015 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 66-year-old female in the left lane.

The pedestrian was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:59 p.m. The driver of the Wrangler remained at the scene following the incident.
