New Hyde Park Man Charged in Violent Assault on Parents

New Hyde Park, NY – A violent incident unfolded around 11:15 PM on Saturday in New Hyde Park, where a 24-year-old man, Joshua Wilck, is accused of attacking his sleeping parents. Nassau County Police reported that Wilck assaulted his 60-year-old father and 64-year-old mother with a knife in their Cherrywood Drive home.

The assault escalated as the victims attempted to flee their residence, with Wilck continuing the attack outdoors and at one point choking one of his parents.

Police quickly intervened, arresting Wilck at the scene.

Both parents suffered severe lacerations and were rushed to a local hospital, where they remain in critical but stable condition. Wilck faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder and assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, aggravated criminal contempt, criminal possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest. He was scheduled for arraignment on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
