Clifton, NJ – Hailey Mia, a 16-year-old from Clifton and a junior at Passaic County Technical Institute, has already made a splash on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2021, finishing in fourth place. Now, she’s aiming for success on ABC’s “American Idol,” with her audition set to air on Sunday at 8 p.m.

After her notable journey on “The Voice,” Mia was ready to take on “American Idol,” with her performance recorded at Katy Perry’s old music school in Santa Barbara, California.

Her audition, praised by judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie, was enough to advance her to the Hollywood rounds. This season, which premiered on January 29, will not see voting rounds until April 7, but Mia has already left a significant mark with her performance of a Katy Perry song, “Rise”.

Katy Perry said the teen’s cover of her song gave her goosebumps.
