Annapolis, MD – An Annapolis man was arrested for first-degree assault after a domestic dispute led to physical violence. On February 26, at 10:48 PM, Annapolis police officers were called to the 400 block of Oaklawn Avenue after police responded to a report of a domestic incident.

Upon their arrival, officers encountered the complainant, who reported a verbal altercation with her ex-boyfriend, 29-year-old Antonio Brown of Annapolis.

The altercation escalated after she advised him to pack his belongings and leave to prevent any harm. Brown initially left the premises but abruptly returned, assaulting the victim by pushing her to the ground and strangling her, in addition to hitting her head and face.

Following the assault, Brown fled the scene on foot. Before leaving, he made suicidal statements to the victim, which were later communicated to the responding officers.

The police located Brown at a nearby gas station, where he was found to be distressed, initially denying but then admitting to suicidal thoughts.

Brown was taken into protective custody and transported to AAMC for an emergency psychiatric evaluation without any incidents.
