Singleton Applauds Governor Murphy’s Budget Address for Housing Initiatives

TRENTON, NJ — Senator Troy Singleton, holding the positions of Senate Majority Whip and Chair of the Senate Community and Urban Affairs Committee, commended Governor Murphy’s Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Address for its focus on New Jersey’s working families. Singleton emphasized the budget’s dedication to economic relief, particularly through substantial investments in property tax relief, affordable housing, and homeownership programs.

He specifically highlighted the grant programs for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) as innovative solutions to the state’s housing shortage, aligning with his legislative efforts to simplify ADU development. Additionally, Singleton praised the expansion of the Downpayment Assistance Program and the allocation of funds for home repair and revitalization. These measures, he noted, are crucial steps towards alleviating New Jersey’s housing crisis.
