COLLIER COUNTY, FL — The Collier County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a man involved in narcotics trafficking following a dramatic pursuit earlier this week. Paul Ontano, 44, is now behind bars, facing charges of trafficking in cocaine over 400 grams.

The arrest came after a vigilant effort by deputies who initiated a traffic stop on Ontano’s vehicle on Wednesday. During the attempt to stop the vehicle, Ontano discarded an item that was later identified as containing over half a kilogram of cocaine. Sheriff Kevin Rambosk praised the deputies for their excellent police work, highlighting the prevention of a significant quantity of cocaine from entering the community.

Ontano was apprehended by deputies on Thursday night, ensuring his detention in the Collier County jail under serious narcotics trafficking charges.
