Man Found Dead in Trunk in Lakewood Identified as Missing Man Last Month in Manchester

LAKEWOOD TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY — Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer has confirmed the identity of a man found deceased in Lakewood Township as 57-year-old David Koscuik of Lakewood. The discovery was made on February 28, 2024, when local police were alerted to an unconscious male inside the trunk of a vehicle parked in the Fairway Court area.

He was reported missing by the Manchester Police Department on February 16th.

Authorities, including the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department, Manchester Township Police Department, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Koscuik’s death.


While the investigation is ongoing, officials have assured the public that there is no imminent danger to community members. Further details will be shared as they become available.
