Renewed Appeal in the Unsolved Homicide of Jody LeCornu

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD—Nearly three decades after the tragic death of 23-year-old Joann “Jody” LeCornu, Baltimore County Police remain steadfast in their quest for justice. In the early hours of March 2, 1996, officers were dispatched to the 6300 block of York Rd., where they discovered LeCornu’s lifeless body inside her vehicle, a victim of a fatal shooting.

The investigation reveals that LeCornu spent the evening prior to her murder at Mount Washington Tavern, followed by a visit to Curb Shoppe Bar & Grill. Her journey ended tragically at Drumcastle Shopping Center’s parking lot along York Road, where an armed assailant fired into her Honda. Despite her injuries,

LeCornu managed to drive across the street to York Road Plaza, where her vehicle came to a halt. Eyewitnesses report seeing the shooter, believed to have followed her, reaching into her car post-attack.

Authorities are seeking a suspect described as a black male with a stocky build, last seen wearing a camouflage-style coat and driving a white BMW southbound on York Road. The Baltimore County Cold Case Squad and LeCornu’s family continue their plea for information that may lead to the resolution of this longstanding case.
