Clinton Avenue Robbery Suspects Sought by Newark Police

NEWARK, NJ — Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is calling on the community for assistance in identifying suspects involved in a robbery on February 19. The incident took place around 6:04 PM in a parking lot on the 700 block of Clinton Avenue, where a man was assaulted and robbed by four individuals.

The victim was struck in the face by one of the suspects before they took his wallet, which contained $700 and other personal items, and fled westbound on Clinton Avenue.

The suspects are all described as Black males, approximately 5’8” tall, with varying complexions and attire. Suspect 1 was noted for wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a puffy jacket, and black and white Nike sneakers. Suspect 2 wore a blue jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, black and white New Balance sneakers, and a black face mask. Suspect 3 was in a black hooded vest, blue long sleeve shirt, sneakers, and a face mask.


Suspect 4 had on Adidas sweatpants, a puffy jacket, black and white New Balance sneakers, and a face mask. The Newark Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
