Fatal Shooting in Kenton Neighborhood, Portland

PORTLAND, OR – A shooting in the Kenton Neighborhood resulted in one fatality. North Precinct Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3000 block of North Terry Street at 7:47 p.m. on Friday, following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found evidence of the shooting and were informed that a victim, suffering from gunshot wounds, had been taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Despite attempts at life-saving measures, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have identified and contacted all individuals believed to be involved in the incident. One man has been detained for further questioning, and police are not searching for additional suspects at this time. The Portland Police Homicide Unit has taken charge of the investigation, which led to the temporary closure of North Terry Street between North Emerald Avenue and North Peninsular Avenue.
