Los Angeles, CA: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run incident. The collision, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian, occurred on February 29, around 10:30 p.m., on Crenshaw Boulevard. A vehicle, possibly a tan-colored sedan, was seen traveling southbound before striking the pedestrian and fleeing the scene without providing aid.

The victim, a Black female believed to be in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics. Her identity is withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities remind drivers of their obligation to stop, render aid, and identify themselves following a collision. Pedestrians are also urged to exercise caution and adhere to traffic laws to ensure their safety.

In an effort to apprehend the responsible party, the Los Angeles City Council offers a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction of hit-and-run offenders, under a program established on April 15, 2015.
