JACKSON, NJ – A decade has passed since Eileen Wiederspan of Jackson, NJ, received a kidney transplant that saved her life. Today, she dedicates herself to advocating for organ and tissue donation through the NJ Sharing Network.

Eileen emphasizes her gratitude towards her donor for the gift of life. She enjoys every moment with loved ones, expressing eternal thankfulness for this second chance.

Having moved from Brooklyn to New Jersey at a young age, Eileen and her husband Phil have called Jackson home for over two decades. They share three children and recently welcomed their first grandchild, Everly, on January 2.

Eileen’s journey through kidney problems, dialysis, and eventual transplantation showcases her resilience. She received a transplant in 2013 from an anonymous donor, a gift that came at a particularly meaningful time during the holiday season.

Now a senior secretary at a special needs school, Eileen volunteers for the NJ Sharing Network. She engages in various activities, from health fairs to fundraising events, to support organ donation.

Eileen’s efforts aim to inspire others to consider organ donation. She believes in the importance of these donations for those in need within New Jersey and beyond.
