Traffic Light Malfunction on Route 37 and Fischer Boulevard in Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ— A traffic light malfunction at the Route 37 and Fischer Boulevard intersection disrupted the evening rush hour in Toms River.

The Toms River Police Department responded to the scene to manage the flow of vehicles and to ensure commuter safety at the intersection. Lights in all directions are currently just flashing.

The State Department of Transportation Traffic Diversion Unit has been called to assist. Commuters are advised to exercise caution and expect delays while traveling through the area.

According to NJ511, as of 8:02 PM, the light had not yet been repaired.


“TOC South: Malfunctioning traffic light on NJ 37 both directions CR 549 Spur/CR 571/Fisher Blvd (Toms River Twp) All lanes open , NO Cross Traffic, use caution,” a warning on the Department of Transportation website said.
