NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police have apprehended Francis Veltre, a 51-year-old Newark resident, in connection with burglaries at two warehouses in February.

The incidents occurred overnight between February 4 and 5, with the first burglary at AMS Fulfillment, where items including a shirt and an HP laptop were stolen. The following morning, Veltre and an accomplice are suspected of stealing four large propane tanks from Winebow.

Following an investigation, Delaware State Police’s Troop 2 Burglary Detectives identified Veltre as one of the suspects. A search warrant executed at a Harmony Road residence on March 5 led to Veltre’s arrest.

Charges against Veltre include third-degree burglary, theft of $1,500 or greater, two counts of second-degree conspiracy, theft under $1,500, and criminal mischief. He was arraigned and is currently held on a $6,500 secured bond at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.

The investigation continues as authorities seek the second suspect. The public is encouraged to provide any relevant information to assist in the case.
