PHILADELPHIA, PA—A citywide search is ongoing for three suspects involved in the shooting of eight Northeast High School students in Philadelphia.

The incident occurred near a SEPTA bus station at Rising Sun and Cottman Avenues shortly before 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Authorities have warned that the suspects are armed and dangerous, advising the public not to approach them and to report any information to the police.

The victims, aged between 15 and 17, were caught in gunfire as they were boarding a SEPTA bus. One 16-year-old victim, critically injured after being shot nine times in the torso, is among the eight hospitalized students, all of whom except for the critically injured victim are in stable condition.

Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel and Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker have expressed their determination to address this violence, emphasizing collaboration among law enforcement to solve the crime and enhance public safety.

This shooting is part of a series of violent incidents over four days that have left three dead and twelve injured. The attacks have prompted increased scrutiny of safety measures within the city’s mass transit system.

Authorities are searching for three masked individuals last seen in a dark blue Hyundai Sonata with paper tags, linked to the latest attack. Surveillance footage capturing the moment of the shooting has been released, showing the gunmen firing over 30 shots before fleeing the scene.
