PHILADELPHIA, PA – A cunning robbery occurred on the morning of February 24, at a local store located at 1619 E. Wadsworth Avenue. According to the complainant, two unidentified males orchestrated a theft that led to the loss of the store’s register contents.
The incident unfolded when a black male entered the store, pretending to be incapacitated after a fall, diverting the store owner’s attention from the cash register. In the meantime, a white male seized the opportunity to steal the money from the register. An attempt by another employee to thwart the escape was met with pepper spray to his face. Surveillance footage revealed the two suspects communicating outside the store prior to the robbery, indicating a premeditated act of distraction.
Police are on the lookout for the suspects described by the victim. Suspect #1 is identified as a black male, aged between 30 to 40, wearing a gray and black jacket, topped with a green Eagles hat featuring a black brim. Suspect #2 is described as a white male of similar age, dressed in a black “True Religion” sweatshirt, a black baseball hat, and blue jeans. The authorities arrived post the suspects’ departure and are seeking any information leading to their apprehension.
