BAYVILLE, NJ – In a recent court proceeding, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that 52-year-old William Andujar of Whiting was sentenced to four years in New Jersey State Prison by the Honorable Kimarie Rahill, J.S.C., for aggravated assault related to a 2020 incident in Berkeley Township.

The sentence falls under the No Early Release Act, requiring Andujar to serve at least 85 percent of his term before being eligible for parole. Additionally, a consecutive one-year sentence was imposed for a probation violation.

The charges stem from a November 2, 2020, collision where Andujar, driving a 2010 Honda CRV, rear-ended a 2003 Hyundai Elantra driven by 44-year-old Susan Ewing of South Toms River. The crash forced both vehicles off the road and into a wooded area, severely injuring Ewing.

She was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment and continues to recover. A subsequent investigation revealed Andujar’s blood alcohol concentration was .18 percent, over twice the legal limit, along with a significant presence of methadone in his system at the time of the crash.
