ALACHUA COUNTY, FL — In a recent announcement, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of 18-year-old Terrell N. Weeks on homicide charges. The charges stem from a violent shooting that occurred in Eastwood Meadows on Monday.

Weeks was apprehended shortly after the incident, already wanted on two outstanding warrants for possession of a weapon or ammunition by a delinquent adult. Sheriff Emery A. Gainey expressed his frustration over the event, emphasizing the county’s commitment to prosecuting those who choose violence.

The shooting claimed the life of 24-year-old Tyren E. Certain, who succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Sheriff Gainey underscored the serious consequences of gun violence, particularly for young individuals previously adjudicated for related offenses.
