Major Drug Bust on Seminole Trail Leads to Arrest

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – Authorities were called to the intersection of Seminole Trail (U.S. 29) and Airport Road following reports of two unconscious males in a vehicle obstructing traffic. Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue teams arrived at the scene around 11:19 am to assess the situation.

Medical personnel evaluated both vehicle occupants upon arrival. A subsequent search of the vehicle by officers uncovered a variety of suspected Schedule I and II narcotics, over seven pounds of marijuana, and a scale. The investigation led to the issuance of multiple warrants against the 39-year-old driver, including charges for Driving Under the Influence, Possession of a Schedule I Narcotic, and Possession with Intent to Distribute a significant quantity of Marijuana.

The driver was transported to the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail and is being held without bond. Additional charges are currently being considered.
