Drug Crackdown Leads to Arrest of 55-Year-Old Hartly Dealer

HARTLY, DE – The Delaware State Police have apprehended George Doby, a 55-year-old resident of Hartly, on multiple felony drug offenses. The arrest came as a result of a search warrant carried out at a home in Hartly, signaling a crackdown on illegal drug activities in the region.

The operation was launched on March 11, when the Kent County Governor’s Task Force executed the search warrant on Hartly Road’s 1300 block.

This action was the culmination of a thorough two-month investigation into the suspected distribution of illegal narcotics from the premises. Upon searching the residence, authorities detained Doby and uncovered illicit substances and paraphernalia, including approximately 48.9 grams of crystal methamphetamines, around 0.86 grams of cocaine, and a digital scale.


Following the search, Doby was taken to Troop 3 for processing. He faces several charges, leading to his arraignment by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and subsequent detention at the Sussex Correctional Institution. The court set his bail at a $40,400 cash bond, underscoring the seriousness of the offenses.
