BROOKLYN, NY – Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced the sentencing of Christopher Chabrier, a 40-year-old man from Park Slope, Brooklyn, to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting two teenage girls. The incident, which took place in Chabrier’s apartment, involved the administration of drugs to the victims before the assaults, all of which were documented by video surveillance recovered from the defendant’s home.
Justice Heidi Cesare of the Brooklyn Supreme Court sentenced Chabrier today, imposing a sentence of 20 years in prison followed by 20 years of post-release supervision. Upon release, Chabrier is required to register as a sex offender. His convictions include two counts of use of a child in a sexual performance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree rape, and possession of a sexual performance by a child, among others.
The assaults occurred on August 30 and 31, 2020, after Chabrier lured the victims, aged 14 and 15, with drugs including MDMA, Xanax, cocaine, and marijuana. The victims were later brought to Chabrier’s Park Slope apartment, where they were assaulted. Following the incident, one of the victims reported the assault to her father, leading to hospital treatment for injuries and a police investigation.
Chabrier was arrested on September 15, 2020, following a search warrant that revealed loaded firearms, drugs, and video evidence of the assaults within his apartment. District Attorney Gonzalez emphasized the commitment to justice for victims of sexual violence and the importance of protecting children and teens from exploitation.
