JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ—The Jackson Township Police Department has announced plans to intensify traffic enforcement from January through September. This move aims to reduce motor vehicle crashes following a report of 1,609 incidents in 2023, including seven fatalities.

The strategy involves deploying officers to high-accident locations to monitor and correct a range of traffic violations. Targeted infractions include speeding, red-light violations, distracted driving, seatbelt usage, right of way violations, and impaired driving. Offenders will receive citations or education on the associated safety risks.

The initiative seeks to decrease severe injuries and deaths through combined enforcement and public education. The Jackson Township Police encourages residents with traffic safety inquiries to reach out to the Traffic Safety Unit.
