A steer named Tommy, residing in Cheshire, Massachusetts, has secured a place in the Guinness World Records as the tallest living steer, towering at an impressive 6 feet, 1 inch. Owned by Fred Balawender, a local farmer, Tommy, a 13-year-old purebred Brown Swiss steer, has captured the spotlight for his remarkable stature.

According to Laurie Cuevas, Fred Balawender’s daughter, Tommy has been a beloved member of the family since he was merely a day old. Cuevas highlighted Tommy’s exceptional growth from the outset and the strong bond formed between him and her father, who regards Tommy as a cherished family companion.

Tommy’s moniker pays homage to Tom Brady, the former quarterback of the New England Patriots, reflecting the family’s admiration for the sports icon at the time of the steer’s naming. Cuevas disclosed that Tommy will continue to reside with the Balawender family for the duration of his natural life, enjoying the comforts of home.

Despite Tommy’s towering height, his weight remains a mystery, as he surpasses the capacity of available scales for accurate measurement, as shared by Cuevas.

Tommy’s achievement not only garners attention for the Balawender family’s farm but also sheds light on the Brown Swiss breed, renowned for its substantial size yet seldom reaching the extraordinary height attained by Tommy, making him a standout representative of his breed.
