Bronx Delis Targeted by Serial Armed Robbery Suspect

NEW YORK CITY, NY — The New York City Police Department is calling for public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a series of robberies at a deli in the Bronx,

Incident Details:

First Incident: On Saturday, January 13, 2024, at approximately 9:54 a.m., an unidentified individual entered the deli at 784 East 163rd Street. The suspect displayed a firearm, went behind the counter, and pushed the 41-year-old employee, causing a minor laceration to his left hand. The suspect then took approximately $400 from the cash register and fled southbound on Tinton Avenue.


Second Incident: On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at around 9:49 a.m., the same deli was targeted by an individual who entered the store, paced back and forth, forcibly went behind the counter, and took $380 from the register. The suspect threatened the same 41-year-old employee with a firearm concealed in his jacket and then fled southbound on East 163rd Street.

Third Incident: The most recent robbery occurred on Friday, March 1, 2024, at approximately 11:37 a.m. This time, the suspect brandished a knife at the employee, threatened him, and then jumped over the counter to steal $250 from the register. The individual fled the scene southbound on Tinton Avenue.

The suspect managed to escape in all incidents, and fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. The NYPD has released media related to the crimes in hopes that members of the public can help identify the suspect responsible for these repeated robberies.
