NYPD Seeking Fugitive Wanted for Shooting in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY — A shooting in Brooklyn’s East New York neighborhood left a 26-year-old man wounded on Saturday, January 27, 2024. The incident occurred in front of 559 New Lots Avenue, within the 75th Precinct’s boundaries.

According to the New York City Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 6:36 p.m., reporting a man shot. Upon their arrival, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to his left heel. Emergency Medical Services were promptly called to the scene, transporting the injured man to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect, described only as an unknown individual, reportedly fled the scene northbound on New Lots Avenue in a gray Ford Edge. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the suspect is still at large as the investigation continues.


The NYPD is actively seeking information regarding the shooting and the whereabouts of the suspect.
