Early Sunday morning, the Stafford Township Police Department was alerted to a potentially concerning situation involving a suspicious male spotted near Mckinley Avenue and Doc Cramer Blvd. The caller described the individual as a tall white male wearing an orange flannel shirt under a bulletproof vest. With nearby events, including sports activities and Sunday School at Saint Mary’s Parish Center, safety precautions were swiftly enacted.

In response to the report, patrol units promptly arrived on the scene, initiating a temporary lockdown at the Parish Center and advising parents to remain in their vehicles. After a thorough search of the area, officers successfully located and identified the individual, determining that he was exercising with a weighted vest for training purposes.

The vest, initially suspected to be bulletproof, was found to be innocuous, and normal activities resumed without incident.

The Stafford Township Police Department commended the vigilant citizen who reported the suspicious activity, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in ensuring public safety. In a proactive stance against potential threats, the department encourages residents to report any suspicious behavior promptly, underscoring the significance of preventive measures over reactive responses.
