Washington, D.C. – A 16-year-old from Northeast D.C. has been apprehended by D.C. Metro Police Department’s Seventh District for his involvement in a string of carjackings and a robbery. Found with a key fob stolen during a recent armed carjacking, the teenager now faces multiple charges, including armed carjacking and receiving stolen property.

The arrest on March 16 follows the carjacking of a vehicle in the early hours of March 15 in the 1400 block of V Street, Northwest. Further investigation linked the teenager to additional crimes, including an unarmed carjacking on March 14 in the 2400 block of 17th Street, Southeast, and a robbery involving force and violence on March 12 at the junction of Eastern and Minnesota Avenues, Northeast.

Additional charges stem from incidents on March 12 and March 7, where vehicles were taken in unarmed carjackings at significant intersections and a block within Southeast D.C. As the investigation into these incidents continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist by calling the police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
