Washington, D.C. – A tragic traffic collision in Southeast Washington has led to the death of 27-year-old Steven Jermaine Faison, Jr., with D.C. Metro Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit spearheading the inquiry. The incident, involving a stolen Volkswagen Golf and a Hyundai Accent, occurred at the intersection of 25th Street and Alabama Avenue.

On the evening of March 14, a Hyundai Accent, carrying Faison and a female passenger, was making its way into the intersection just as the Volkswagen, moving at a high rate of speed, crashed into them. The impact was so severe that both occupants of the Hyundai were ejected from the vehicle, leading to Faison’s immediate death at the scene, while the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Following the crash, the Volkswagen’s driver fled on foot, prompting a police search.

Authorities have identified the victim and are now appealing to the public for any information regarding the fatal incident. Witnesses or individuals with knowledge of the crash are encouraged to contact the police or utilize the department’s text tip line.
