Seven Shot, Two Dead In D.C. Mass Shooting Incident

Washington, DC – Detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch are currently investigating a deadly shooting that took place in Northwest D.C. Officers from the Third District were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of 7th and P Streets early Sunday morning following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered three men and two women with gunshot injuries in the 600 block of P Street, Northwest.

All five individuals were rushed to local hospitals to receive medical treatment for their wounds. In a tragic turn of events, two additional men were found at the scene, both of whom had sustained fatal gunshot injuries and were pronounced dead on site. The investigation into the motive behind this heinous act is still ongoing, with initial findings suggesting a deliberate shooting by one or more assailants.

The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Anthony Brown from Southeast, D.C., and 32-year-old Jay Lucks from Baltimore, MD. In response to this tragedy, the D.C. Metro Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 per victim, totaling a potential $50,000, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators.
